About UPS's label PDF
UPS labels carry a MaxiCode block and a 1Z barcode, both of which have to stay geometrically exact to scan. The crop here copies the label as vector artwork rather than re-rendering it, so the MaxiCode dots and the barcode bars keep their original dimensions.

UPS label questions
Does the UPS MaxiCode still scan after converting?
Yes. It is copied as vector content at its original size, so the dot pattern is unchanged. Do not scale the PDF in the print dialog, since that is what breaks MaxiCodes.
UPS gives me a label and a receipt on one page. Which do I print?
Only the label goes on the parcel. Label only is the default here, so the receipt half is dropped automatically.
Can I use this for a UPS return label from a retailer?
Yes. Retailer return labels are the same 1Z format on a letter page, and they crop the same way.
Do I need the UPS thermal printer driver?
No. This produces a standard 4 × 6 PDF, so your printer's normal driver is all you need. Just set the paper size rather than relying on Letter.
Will UPS accept a label printed on a thermal roll?
Yes. UPS accepts thermal labels as long as the barcode scans and the label is flat, uncreased and on the largest face of the parcel.
