Set the paper size to 4×6 on a Rollo

  • Choose the page size named 4.00 x 6.00 in (Rollo lists it as 4x6 or 101mm x 152mm).
  • Set orientation to Portrait and scaling to 100% or Actual size.
  • Set margins to none or 0; Rollo handles its own edge offset.
  • Run a calibration from the Rollo utility after changing roll type, so the gap sensor relearns the label length.

Recommended Rollo settings by device

Mac

  1. 1Install the Rollo macOS driver, then open System Settings, Printers & Scanners, and select Rollo.
  2. 2In the print dialog, open Paper Size and pick 4.00 x 6.00 in.
  3. 3Set Scale to 100% and make sure Scale to fit is unchecked.
  4. 4Open Printer Features and set Print Speed to 4 ips and Darkness to around 10 for paper labels.
  5. 5Save it all as a Preset named Rollo 4x6 so every print reuses it.

Windows

  1. 1Install the Rollo driver, then open Printers & scanners, Rollo, Printing preferences.
  2. 2On the Page Setup tab set the stock to 4 x 6 in, Portrait, and no rotation.
  3. 3Set Print quality to 203 dpi and Darkness to about 10.
  4. 4Click Apply so the defaults stick, then in Adobe or your browser choose Actual size and turn off Fit to page.
  5. 5If you use Adobe Reader, also untick Choose paper source by PDF page size.

iPhone

  1. 1A Rollo Wireless appears in AirPrint automatically; a USB Rollo needs the Rollo app or a computer.
  2. 2Convert the label above, tap the download, then use the Share sheet and choose Print.
  3. 3Tap Options and set Paper Size to 4 x 6 in and Scaling or Fit to Page to off where offered.
  4. 4Print one label and check the barcode fills the width before doing a batch.

Android

  1. 1Install the Rollo Print Service or Mopria Print Service, then add the Rollo over Wi-Fi.
  2. 2Open the converted PDF from Downloads and choose Print.
  3. 3Set Paper size to 4 x 6 in, Scale to 100%, and Colour to Black and white.
  4. 4Turn off any Fit to page option in the print preview before sending the job.

Fix labels that print tiny, off-center or across two labels

The label prints tiny in the middle of the roll
The PDF is still a letter page. Convert it to 4 × 6 on this page, then confirm the paper size in the driver is 4 x 6 in and not Letter.
The label prints across two labels
The printer is treating the roll as continuous paper. Run Rollo's calibration with the roll loaded, then reprint. If it repeats, the page size in the driver is taller than 6 in.
The label is off-center or shifted left
Set margins to 0 and centre the roll under the guides. Rollo's guides need to touch the liner without pinching it.
Bars look grey and scan badly
Raise Darkness a few steps and drop the speed to 4 ips. Grey bars are underheating, not resolution.
Every other label comes out blank
Your PDF has blank pages between labels. The converter skips blank pages, so reconvert from the original file rather than printing the marketplace PDF directly.

Rollo questions

Do I need Rollo's own app to print shipping labels?

No. Once the driver is installed, Rollo is a normal printer. Convert the label to 4 × 6 here and print from any PDF viewer.

What darkness setting works best on a Rollo?

Around 10 of 20 for standard direct-thermal paper. Go higher only if bars look grey, since too much heat bleeds the bars together.

Can a Rollo print 4×4 or 2×1 labels too?

Yes. Change the page size to match the stock and recalibrate. The converter has a 4 × 4 preset for square labels.

Why does my Rollo pull through several blank labels?

It lost the gap position. Hold the feed button until it calibrates, or run calibration from the Rollo utility.

Does a Rollo work straight from an iPhone?

The Wireless model does, through AirPrint. The USB model needs a computer or a shared connection.
